This project was developed during a 35mm film photography class where we had to alter the photographs in some way. The creative direction I took towards this project was to have an non-objective approach. I wanted to capture photographs of various textures and overlay ornate patterns with the use of laser cut stencils. After the photographs were developed, flattened and dried they were laser cut with an intricate geometric designs. Then I could use color to add an new element to the photograph. It was extremely pleasing to be able to use my graphic design and digital fabrication skills in order to create a dynamic non-objective series of work with the use of film photography.
